Mason Flinchum – Reno, Nevada

“My “home course” would have to be Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course or The Ranch disc golf course. Both are local courses for me that offer a variety of shot shapes and quite a few open “bomber” holes. We are in Nevada so basically there is sage brush EVERYWHERE and some Juniper trees scattered in the mix but mostly open courses…I am a casual, league and tournament player. Most of my rounds are casual then I play in league tag rounds occasionally and I try to play in at least one tournament a month

Welcome to another edition of our Disc Golf Player Profile publication – where we feature disc golfers that you may or may not have heard of before. Everybody has their own disc golf story to tell. This is the place where those stories are being told and shared with the world!

Disc Golf Journey

How long have you been playing disc golf?

This is my 3rd year playing after discovering the sport.

How did you get started with disc golf?

Like many others myself and a couple buddies went out to a local sports store and bought starter sets. We had no idea what we were getting into or how hard it would be. I also didn’t think I would become devoted to playing as much as possible.

Share some of your memorable disc golf moments…

Although I’ve only been playing for 3 years and this is my second year representing Team Lone Star Disc, I plan on staying here and progressing my rating to move to the founders or tournament team. I’ve had 5 aces and 2 eagles in my career, definitely all memorable moments for me.
