Meet Daniel Erickson (PDGA #200294)

Tell us about yourself! How old are you? Where do you live? What do you do (work/school/etc.)?

I am 19 years old and live in Elizabethtown Pa. I work at Chick-fil-A during summers and attend college at Liberty University

Tell us about the most important people in your life! Who do you live with (family, friends, etc.)?

The most important people in my life are my family as well as my best friends. I live with my family.

How long have you been playing disc golf?

3 and a half years

How did you get started with disc golf?

My brothers and I were looking for things to do during Covid and found disc golf and fell in love with it.

Share some of your memorable disc golf moments…

Some of my favorite memories from disc golf are playing and watching the Ledgestone Insurance Open, as well as attending Maple hill and playing the course there as well as watching the MVP open. I also have many fun memories of casual, league, and tournament rounds where I just had a great time on with course with my cardmates.

Not too much, most of my time is used by work, school, or disc golf.

Get Freaky Zone, Mind Bender md1, Firebird, Halo Destroyer

What else is always in your bag other than discs?

Chalk bag, towels, water

Disc Golf Courses

Do you have a course that you consider your ‘home course’? Tell us about it.

Shank Park in Hershey Pa. It is a local 18 hole course that I helped design. My local club that I am most involved in is based at this course.

What are a few of your favorite disc golf courses to play?

Faylor lake Disc Golf Park, Muddy Run disc golf course, Broken Chains disc golf course.

What is a dream disc golf course for you that you hope to play someday?

Blue Ribbon Pines

Do you drink, smoke, snack, or partake in anything else while playing disc golf? What’s your go-to?

Just Water and sometimes sunflower seeds.

Are you just a casual disc golfer? Do you participate in any local leagues? Do you compete in disc golf tournaments?

I compete in a good amount of tournaments as well as several leagues.

Do you have any tips for aspiring disc golfers?

Throw slower speed discs until you have the arm speed for faster ones.

Breaking the 500ft mark

My brothers and several close friends that I have, but also with various people I have gotten to know through disc golf.

What would a perfect disc golf round look like for you?

A sunny fall day with little to no breeze with my brothers at Faylor lake disc golf park.
